Love Gives to Our Communities

MountCarmelHealthyLivingCenter Love Gives is a new giving program for System Office colleagues. Each year, the campaign will support key projects at the Global Health Ministry, a Mission Health Ministry, a Regional Health Ministry, and a National Health Ministry. Through Love Gives, you have the opportunity to provide hope and healing to someone in need. For fiscal year 2020, our goal is to raise $150,000. Choose from among the options below and make your one-time gift or give over time through payroll deduction.

Mount Carmel Healthy Living Center, Columbus, Ohio

MountCarmelHealthyLivingCenter At Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, a one-of-a-kind center engages the community and provides free holistic health and wellness programs for everyone, especially those who are poor or underserved. Mount Carmel's von Zychlin Healthy Living Center (HLC) empowers each individual to embrace long-term health behavior changes in a safe, inclusive space, equipping community members with the tools they need to prevent or manage chronic medical conditions.

With the help of a $600,000 gift from PNC Bank, Mount Carmel founded HLC in 2013. Since that time, there have been over 50,000 visits to the center. Community members can choose from cooking and nutrition classes, fitness and exercise classes, pregnancy & parenting programs, and wellness and stress management classes. The HLC also offers Community Meetings, which provide a space for important conversations about improving the health of the community. Learn More

The Mercy Community, West Hartford, Connecticut

MercyCommunity Trinity Health Senior Communities – one of our National Health Ministries – is making a positive difference in the lives of seniors in Connecticut through The Mercy Community. Located on a beautiful 43-acre campus in West Hartford, Connecticut, The Mercy Community offers a full continuum of retirement living and health care services for seniors.

Saint Mary Home is a skilled nursing facility with a dedicated Memory Care Neighborhood. This year, they are looking to implement engagement software for this specialized unit. This software would include computer workstations with specific programs that are designed to engage individuals living with dementia. The software plays music, cues exercise or physical movements, and uses reminiscence therapy to evoke memory. They are also looking to create enhanced living spaces for the Memory Care Neighborhood in order to make residents feel more at home.. Learn More

Mercy Care, Atlanta, Georgia

MercyCare Saint Joseph's Health System, one of our Mission Health Ministries, is doing great work serving the most vulnerable through Mercy Care Atlanta. Faith and community are at the heart of Mercy Care's mission to care for those experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental illness, or linguistic isolation on the streets and in clinics across Atlanta, Georgia.

As the medical home for Atlanta's most vulnerable, Mercy Care offers comprehensive services that meet the majority of this population's primary physical, mental, and wellness needs. Services include primary medical care for adults and children, primary dental care, vision care, mental and behavioral health assessment and counseling, prescriptions, health screenings, and health education. They also offer case management services for patients experiencing homelessness who are in need of more personalized support on their road to recovery. Learn More

Global Health Ministry (Haiti Mission), Newtown Square, Pennsylvania

GlobalHealth As Trinity Health's only international ministry, Global Health Ministry's mission is to provide health care services, education, and programs that improve the lives of people who are poor and underserved in the developing world. Currently, Global Health Ministry is serving four countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. This year as part of Love Gives, you have the opportunity to support the Global Health Ministry's missions in Haiti. 

Every fall since 2009, a medical team of 10 to 15 Global Health Volunteers (GHV) travel to the Artibonite Region in Northwest Haiti for a 10-day mission. They set up clinics in Gros Morne to provide primary care and health education, travelling an hour or more each day to bring medications and supplies to rural communities that have little or no access to medical care. Over the course of those 10 days, they reach an average of 700 children and adults. Learn More

The Colleague Assistance Fund is part of an overall wellness approach designed to nurture a culture that supports our ability to care for ourselves as well as we care for our patients.
